Bye Bye Baby Blues

The Mississippi Mudder (Jimmie Gordon) – Vocals, Piano
Charlie McCoy – Guitar

August 14, 1934
Chicago, Illinois

Piano In C

I woke up this mornin’ my best gal was gone
I woke up this mornin’ my best gal was gone
And I turned over on my pillow and begin to moan

Bye bye baby I’ll see you some sweet day
Bye bye baby see you some sweet day
I hate to see you throw yourself away

And she left me this mornin’ just about the break of day
And she left me this mornin’ just about the break of day
She said she was leavin’ and she was goin’ away

Baby if you goin’ to leave me please don’t go to stay
Baby if you goin’ to leave me please don’t go to stay
Because the way that you treat me mama gon' to fire you in the face someday

And if you ever think to Lord to change your no good way
And if you ever think to hoo to change your no good way
You can pack your things this mornin’ come back home to me and stay

2.3:  I hate to see you throw yourself away

4.1 & 4.2:  Baby if you goin’ to leave me please don’t go to stay

It's nice to hear some Jimmie Gordon!  Thanks for the transcription.

Hi Harry,
Thanks for transcribing this song. There's something wrong with the end of the tagline on the next-to-last verse, because what you have can't be right. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to offer yet, but I'll keep listening.
EDITED TO ADD: I'm hearing something that sounds closer to me, something like:

   * Because the way you treat me, mama, GON' TO FIRE you in the FACE I BE

I"m not satisfied with the very end of the line, but I'm pretty sure "gon' to" is correct.
All best,
Johnm

I wasn't sure about that line. I should have put a question mark behind it.
Sounds like you got it right;

Because the way you treat me, mama, gon' to fire you in the face someday

Mean Mistreatin' Blues

Jimmie Gordon was a pianist and probably played the instrument on some of his own records and with Alice Moore.
But it’s unclear if he actually played piano himself on several recording sessions.
Is there more info in the lastest B & GR?

Jimmie Gordon – Vocals, Piano

She’s a mean mistreater and she don't mean me no good
She’s a mean mistreater and she don't mean me no good
And I don't blame you mama I'd be the same way if I could

And you say you’s going to leave me and you say you’s going to stay
And you say you’s going to leave me and you say you’s going to stay
But that's alright mama you'll come back home to me someday

You's a mean mistreater you mistreats me all the time
You's a mean mistreater you mistreats me all the time
And I tried to love you baby  but you didn’t pay that no mind

Don’t you remember the mornin’ I knocked upon your door
You had the nerve to tell me that you didn't want me no more
Don’t you remember mornin’ I knocked upon your door
And you had the nerve to tell me that you didn't want me no more

Ain't it lonesome sleeping all by yourself
When the one that you lovin’ lovin’ someone else
Ain't it lonesome sleeping by yourself
When the one that you lovin’ and she’s lovin’ someone else

That's most definitely Jimmie Gordon piano and Charlie McCoy on those two songs you posted.
