We have established that the site slows from 1.10 AM eastern time US, which, we have also ascertained, is when our site host, in Charlotte NC, does backup and daily housekeeping.
I've noticed it slows almost to a halt, but eventually comes back.
In the US it occurs at east coast time 01.10, central time 00.10 (when I should be in bed but often aren't), mountain time at 11.10 pm, and west coast 10.10 pm.
Bearing in mind where you live, you might want to avoid scheduling your local WC surfing time to avoid whatever time it is when it's US east coast time, 01.10
