You got me snapping my fingers and tapping my foot! Great swing! Nice stuff.
That is really nice. It is good to hear someone take a tune and do their own thing with it rather than just ape the original. Very imaginative. Good looking guitar, too (what we can see of it, that is).
This is an interesting one,we cover this song in my band and I wondered whether it was a Willie McTell original. I found a swing version by Sonny Boy Williams on his complete works 1940 to 1947, does anybody know which, if either is the original?
Georgia White recorded it before McTell, Williams, and the Ted Mays Band, though I don't know if she was first when she did it in May 1936. Pre-abdication, so no King Edward reference.
