I played this guitar today at Chelsea Guitars in the storied Chelsea Hotel (I stayed up all night in the Chelsea Hotel Writing Sad Eyed Lady of The Lowlands For You) on west 23rd st. here in New York City. Its the best one of these I've ever played. It has what can only be described as a truly "beautiful" sound, almost in the classical guitar sense. The body has seen some knocking around, its certainly not in mint condition for thems what cares about such things, I didn't inquire as to its repair history. Its beautiful fat neck fit my hand as if custom made and it played like a dream. They're asking 5K, or $4500. cash which is a shitload of scratch and way more than I can dream about, but I suspect a serious negotiating session with Danny, the owner might yield better results, but I don't know that for sure and don't quote me. Anyway, it is an extraordinary guitar and I'd just assume someone here in Weenieville be its proud owner. just let me come over and see it sometime.
