Absolutely shocked at this sad news. It was heartwarming that one so young could be so enthusiastic about this music, but heartbreaking that he could be taken so young.
Again, my thoughts are with his parents, family and friends.

Is there any way the Senior Moderators can send a message of sympathy and condolence to Calvin's parents from all his Weenie friends? Maybe Coyote Slim can help with a contact here.

I did post a message on the remembrance page for Calvin on behalf of WeenieCampbell. I know his parents are reading that page as they posted a message to that effect.
FWIW I also linked this thread to a similar one on the Blindman's Blues Forum (where the said book of remembrance is), and told everyone that Calvin is much missed here also.
Edit: I just noticed that CoyoteSlim had already done this.
I only knew Calvin from his posts here & on Blindman's Blues Forum. My first thoughts go out to his parents & family -- I cannot imagine what it's like to lose someone at such a young age.
Calvin's knowledge & love of pre-war blues was remarkable, especially at such a young age. Most of us (well, at least me anyway) didn't "get it" until we were much older.
This is just terrible. Just terrible. It may seem trite, but all we have is today. Living in the present is all we can do. Hug your kids and loved ones and make sure you know how much they mean to you.
It's hard for me to even be on either forum now... thinking about it... and all the other crap I have going on in my own life... But the sun will shine in my door someday (actually it is... and it's really hot... I hope the weather cools down, 'cause I ain't got no insulation!)

Yes, thinking about it -- on his 15th birthday -- sure stops me in my tracks every time. The same thing happens whenever I hear of a 19-year-old soldier becoming a casualty. But we need these reminders, don't we?
this really hit me when I read about this, found out from this thread though i've only posted in the BBF memorial, increadably sad. does anyone have any word on the cause of death yet? it seems unreal that someone so young can just die in their sleep.
