Welcome Spotnik. There was a rumor a while back that a missing Willie Brown Paramount (Grandma Blues/Sorry Blues) surfaced but I never heard anything about that lately.

This is a reintroduction. I was on this forum briefly a long time ago. I recently found an old list of passwords to some forums, including this one - it still worked. Long-time fan of old blues and jazz, and a guitar picker. Took several classes with John Miller at the 2019 Port Townsend Blues Week, and I also have several of John’s DVD lessons.

A belated welcome Jono. I'm just over the border in East Sussex and I know of at least one Weenie also in Kent.

Hi all, I’m David. 57 years old. Returning to guitar playing after thirty plus years off. Although I never was any good, some of the muscle memory returned pretty quickly. I’ve always loved country blues, coming at it via the usual suspects, Duane Allman, Dead, Hot Tuna, have come to really love the originals like Mississippi John Hurt, Robert Johnson, etc. I’ve recently decided to concentrate on fingerstyle blues in my own playing, am currently working on Shake That Thing as taught by Stefan Grossman and Spike Drivers Blues. I’m pleasantly surprised that I seem to have a good feel for Mississippi John Hurt’s style. Hoping to continue to learn and improve and have fun.

Hello everybody! My name is Dave and I am new here. To be honest been reading this place for a while and finally decided to join. I love blues, it's been my passion since I was a child. I used to spend my summer school holidays at my grandfather's property in Sicily here and there he had a huge collection of different blues music and we used to listen to it during all summer while I was there. He had a great taste and music  I have to say.

Hi Folks,

I’ve been here 16+ years so maybe it’s time to introduce myself.  Like many of you, an encounter with the music of John Hurt and Lightning Hopkins, among others, led to a lifetime fascination with this music, and eventually attempting to play it.  I got to meet a few of old timers back in the day.  For quite a while, I collected blues, jazz, old-time and ethnic 78s, but those have all been passed along to other collectors.

A lifetime of work in the intermountain west has been winding down for a while, leaving more time to spend with the music here in our fortress of solitude in New Mexico. That includes attending PT, taking a couple of pilgrimages to the land where the blues began, and lessons with our very own musical guru John Miller.

This is great site with knowledgeable and generous contributors.  Thanks to them and folks behind the curtain who make it work.

Stay safe and be well y’all.

Eric in New Mexico

Hello Folks! Since this is my first post, I should introduce myself. My name is Joe and I'm a brand new member to this forum. I look forward to browse through the pages, find inspiration and meet new blues enthusiasts from near and far.

I'm a blues player, too. Feel free to check out some of my stuff:

Hi Joe,  saw some of your songs on Youtube.
Excellent. I particularly enjoyed "don't mess with a mule".
I'm sure you're gonna like it here.
