Folkways albums were some of the first records I heard from my parents' collection that led to a life immersed in blues.

Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Lightnin' Hopkins and others whose names no longer pop into my head lit the path to decades of great music and associated vices.  My only regret is not having played more.

RobBob:
This is a good thing as long as the Smithsonian does Arhoolie the same justice it has done for Folkways.  These two labels have comprised a fair share of my collection for the past half century.  A lot of American and world history lives on these labels.

TenBrook:
Folkways just launched a website dedicate to Arhoolie here: https://folkways.si.edu/arhoolie

Per their tweet the site "offers an immersive journey through the history of the label featuring rarely seen photos, playlists, and more."
