There are these rare moments when musicians together touch something sweeter than they've ever found before in rehearsals or performance, beyond the merely collaborative or technically proficient, when their expression becomes as easy and graceful as friendship or love. This is when they give us a glimpse of what we might be, of our best selves, and of an impossible world in which you give everything you have to others, but lose nothing of yourself. Out in the real world there exist detailed plans, visionary projects for peaceable realms, all conflicts resolved, happiness for everyone, for ever – mirages for which people are prepared to die and kill. Christ's kingdom on earth, the workers' paradise, the ideal Islamic state. But only in music, and only on rare occasions, does the curtain actually lift on this dream of community, and it is tantalizingly conjured, before fading away with the last notes - Ian McEwan, from his novel Saturday

I was waiting for that, Simon! Hence no comment from me about those lovely banjos ( ::))...

Ukuleles are OK because they're made of wood (well mine is anyway).

Wood only, I think not! Our esteemed Euromaster, Richard is a reso man. Just because you guys can't control the beasts.... There is nothing to beat a tricone!
The banjo ban remains in place.

Delighted to see the bookings increasing and that you are already beginning to squable over who should pluck the banjo  :P

Sorry, to what do you refer? Surely the words banjo and plucking invariably occur together or do you mean it should be plucking banjo?

Steadyrollinman, glad you'll be able to make it! Maybe you could bring along three or four of your pre-war Nationals to help me counterbalance the wooden-box-with-a-hole-in-the-top brigade?   >:D

Oh, and Richard Scruton, the other half of my Delta Echoes duo, has also booked!

Welcome to wonderful world of weenie SRM and as a gentleman of impecable taste owning an old National or three, would we know you in another guise other than on MMs forum?

That young Marshcat has suffered from delusions of palm tree since he recently bought another proper guitar, but will discover the wooden box is altogether in a different league and of course, is a proper guitar only having a dozen frets  :P

Booked.  Although it was only on the fourth attempt that they answered the phone!

I am happy to promise to do a Uke blues fingerpicking number...  8)
