After consulting his preacher to make sure there was nothing sinful about playing blues records on the radio Mr. Wright decided to give it a try. He did it six days a week almost until his death on what became one of America's longest-running radio programs. From 6 o'clock to 9, he was the 'Soul Man' playing the blues. For the last two hours he was 'Brother Early' playing gospel music - Early Wright, obituary to the DJ, WROX Clarksdale

Swedish / G?teborg Weenies for practice?
« on: January 10, 2016, 07:05:26 AM »
Hello all,
Looking for acoustic, or country, blues players in G?teborg Sweden who want to get together just for practice and exchange of ideas sometimes.
I am a mediocre guitar player, but have an ok grasp of the music in general (I am really a harp player! :o ;) ).
Country blues... maybe old blues is a better term. Seems like many of my favourites actually worked in towns.
Any instruments, drop a pm and we talk more.
Also if there are any country blues fingerpicking teachers in G?teborg, please, drop a line. There was a very good teacher here, but she moved out of town.
Hope this was the correct board for this kind of inquiry.
