It wasn't so much that I would ask them how to play. A lot of the stuff I knew from old records.... What they usually talked to me about was how to conduct myself as a person. They tried to keep me away from all the things they went through. They tried to keep my nose clean, and they succeeded pretty good - Jerry Ricks, on time spent with the Old Ones, interview in Blues Review No. 46, April 1999

Brand new Furry Lewis album?!
« on: March 30, 2023, 09:42:14 PM »
Live at the Gaslight at the Au Go Go (sic)
Another live one, but this is from a club in New York, not from his home. Includes a strangely high-pitched version of "Take Your Time," a slow, dramatic "Turn Your Money Green," lots of other delights for any Furry fan. I'm dogsitting at a house with Apple Music and happened upon it when I searched for Furry Lewis. Looks like the CD is available through the usual sources, including your local record shop!

What's a "local record shop"?

I have this on an LP from Ampex Records from the early '70s looks like. Mine doesn't have "Take Your Time" on it so maybe there are more tracks on the CD.

My guess is a shop that sells local records. You'd better ask someone over 90. They're better qualified to answer your question.
