Did a quick search for Furtado and the search engine thought I meant to search for "farted". Hmmm.... SO... TONY FURTADO!! Banjo player extraordinaire and a damn fine bottlenecker to boot! Some newish vids popped up on youtube, so I thought I'd share one of 'em with y'all. http://www.youtube.com/v/eSl5AfDKwCE&hl=en Plenty more out there on the tube for those interested. Take care. Mike

There's a whole bunch of these Maxwell Street vids on YouTube, and I think at least one of them (Robert Nighthawk) has already been posted here. But I really like this one--street gospel:

dance (ballet) on Sonny Terry's 'Harmonica Breakdown'
the dance itself starts at 2.30 and is a joy to watch; the rest (also in part 1) is Jane Dudley, the choreographer explaining about the dance and how and when it was conceived.

I saw it on tv performed by a white dancer a long time ago, so not this slowed down version. Seeing Sonny Terry by accident on Youtube I thought about the dance again and did a search. isn't the internet amazing

Don't remember seeing this one of Sleepy John Estes and Yank Rachel doing Mailman Blues in the '50s. Couldn't find it in a search, either. No embedding allowed.
Edit - Weird, even just posting from the www creates an imbed which then shows an "unavailable" message, with no way to click through. Delete the large gap in the above url and cut and paste into your browser. Best I can do.
All for now. John C.

That video is not from the 1950s but from the 1966 American Folk Blues Festival in UK. Recorded Wed. 28 Sept London Royal Abert Hall. ( I have a DVD bought from ebay UK ) Needless to say that Yank & Estes video knocks me off
Frank, no it?s the only one on this DVD. I have a few more songs of Yank on VHS tapes. I still need to get these transferred to DVD/ Video CD .... may take some time
