Here's the first recording of Key to the Highway, by Charles Segar in 1940. Interestingly it's a 12-bar blues, as opposed to the later 8-bar versions.

A very modern take on an old Skip James number by another Skip. I like it!

I saw Skip "Little Axe" McDonald live a couple of years ago. He got stuck in traffic due to an accident on the motorway and arrived about 3 hours late. Despite this, he went straight on stage and played a magnificent solo set, starting with Hard Time Killing Floor. I spoke to him as well and he is a real gentleman.

Slide guitarist Kevin Brown has collaborated with him a little and both musicians hope to do more together at some point in the future which will doubtless be very interesting.

This Sonny Boy Williamson footage was just posted on Blues-Finland.com.

Can anyone tell what's the personnel on this show, and when was it done? Are the backing musicians british? They sound pretty good to me.
For some reason I've always thought this was a mid sixties US show the early episodes of which included segments taped in the UK by Granada TV specifically for it. This has to be one of them. The guitarist looks suspiciously like a young Davey Graham. But don't hold me to that.
