Sheffield Acoustic Blues Sessions
« on: January 29, 2011, 04:06:00 AM »
Hi, I've already mentioned the regular twice-monthly Acoustic Blues nights that I run here in Sheffield. Recent changes should be brought to the attention of anyone wishing to participate.
We now have a website, there's not much on there yet, but we're working on it. Self & a mate did a few rough & ready recordings yesterday, to illustrate the sort of thing we're aiming for with these events. You can hear those tunes on the new website.
The dates and location for the sessions are now: first and third Wednesdays each month at The Bath Hotel.
See you on wednesday  8)

I'm afraid my native county is now a few hundred miles away, but I wish you every success with the venture, Andy.

Best of luck with it, I know what it's like trying to get something going.

Thanks all.
We've been running these sessions for about the last seven years, with varying degrees of attendance and interest. This is our latest attempt to attract a few more knowledgeable CB fans into our midst. We currently have a hardcore of two regular attendees, with about three or four "every couple of monthers."
Feel free to tell your friends in the North all about us!

There's always the euroweenie gathering in April if you want to cross into the southern hemisphere!

And at least 4 attendees I can think of are from up north originally.

I'd love to, but the usual constraints, time and money, make it impossible. Maybe next time.

I am assuming here you mean anywhere north of Cheltenham, which is how us 'proper' west country folk think of it  :)
