Topic: The New Child Boards

Hi all,
It was determined recently to create child boards under the Main Forum, to sort out specified kinds of threads in the Main Forum into more specialized boards, and create a finer categorization of topics.  The two boards are "Discographies" and "Books and Articles".  If you are starting a new thread in one of these areas, please post to the appropriate child board rather than the Main Forum.  Also please tag you post appropriately, as a discography, article, obituary, liner notes, et al.
The child boards are loaded now.  You can go to their tables of contents to see what threads have been moved there.  Alternatively, you can go to "tags" at the top of your browser and click on books, article, discography, obituary or liner notes to see what you can find on the boards. 
We hope that sorting things out in this way will make it easier for you to find what we have on site.

Excellent idea guys, must have taken you ages to identify what's what and sort accordingly. Don't know about others but really useful for a facts and info freak like myself.

I agree, the increased specificity on those boards is a good idea.  I'm guessing the natural finish guitar icon on the main forum page means new posts in a child board (to go with the sunburst guitar for no new posts and the resonator for new posts)?

Correct.  The new guitar icon (which is a Fraulini Angelina 12 String, btw)  indicates a new post in a Child board, when there is no new post in the Parent board.  We'll clean up the icon and make an index entry for it, which will appear a the bottom of the page, when time permits.

Hi all,
In a further refinement (?) of the child boards, we have decided to move all book reviews previously posted in the Reviews board to the Books and Articles child board.  All of the book reviews that have been moved have been tagged "Review" so if you go to the TAGS button at the top of your browser, click on it and then select "Review" from the list of tags, you will find all the book reviews that were moved.  If you are starting a new thread with a book review, please post it to the Books and Articles child board and remember to tag it "Review".
The remainder of the old Reviews board has been turned into a new child board called "Music Reviews".  It contains not only reviews of recordings, but also reviews of performances, instructional videos, dramatic presentations, movies and TV shows.  If you have any music-related review you would like to post, please post it the new Music Reviews child board.
