I figure if Bo were around, and he got paid, he'd be fine with it. I've heard a couple radio ads recorded by country blues guitar guys, probably from the 40's or 50s and they're pretty cool.
dj
Got to love the double entendre there. I wonder if the Carls Jr. execs who saw and approved the ad know what pigmeat Bo was talking about?

I am sure they have no idea. Kind of like the Spoonful ad with Charley seated at the table with his chin in his hand
They could do a a series, with Your Biscuits Are Big Enough For Me next. Or branch out to Memphis Minnie, I'm Gonna Bake My Biscuits.
That folded sheet of egg looks like foam insulation and the bacon looks lacquered. And yet still I'm somehow hungry. dj
Quote bacon looks lacquered I'm sure it is. Food stylists do all sorts of nasty things to food to get it to look good in a photograph or on film. You notice they never show the guy chewing or swallowing anything. He likely had to spit it out as soon as they cut the camera off. Yeah you gotta love it ! Man did y'all hear that crunch?
Bo probably heard about Hendrix selling Audi cars, figured he'd get into the game too. What does pigmeat refer to exactly? I've heard people say it refers to a white women or a young virgin girl. Is one of these right or is it something else completely?
dj
I've always thought of pigmeat as referring to any young woman, but Stephen Calt, in Barrelhouse words, adds the connotation of a virgin.
Memphis Minnie believes it's actually a man. So I'd take gender out of the equation, cf. "Has anybody seen my pigmeat on the line?"
Steve Pajik
I think Bo's My Pencil Won't Write No More would be the perfect song for a Viagra or Cialis commercial.
Oh my god! Since I don't watch TV I hadn't seen that commercial, thank you so much for posting it. I love that they included the "Yes, suh!" at the end. Wonder who, if anyone, gets paid the royalty for using that recording?
