Lester McFarland recorded as half of the "Mac and Bob" duo, with the other half being Bob Gardner. The two met in the Kentucky School for the Blind. They had a successful recording career from 1926-1940, doing a combination of Country "Heart Songs", religious material, harder Old-Time material, novelty numbers and occasional blues. Lester McFarland recorded "K. C. Whistle Blues", a song in the "K. C. Moan" family, as a solo number, accompanying himself out of Vestapol, with a slide, and doing some really expert playing.
