"Alberta" OMB Practice
« on: October 17, 2010, 05:12:10 PM »
Work in progress... Messing around with the OMB idea. Still struggling here and there. Took about 5 takes before I gave up on perfection... These were the best two.
This is the only spot in my new living room that doesn't have carpet on it. Sounds better than the bathroom or the kitchen...
One foot's got two egg shakers in the sock...
The other foot's got a butter knife stuck through holes in the bottom of the sock (provides a heavier thud that's not really noticeable here).
Playing the '37 Supertone Archtop that used to belong to Alvin Hart.
I originally learned this tune from some old Alan Lomax prison recordings. There are many other versions out there. Here's mine.

Great playing Mike! And now you have a hole in your sock, nobody can argue - you must be a REAL bluesman!

Butter knife in the sock. That's a new one to me. Accept no quail on toast from this man.

That butter knife now lives with my guitars.  Not with the other butter knives.  Promise.

Well maybe not quite as dangerous as Rosa Klebb in the James Bond film "From Russia with Love":

 :P

Sorry ...couldn't resist.

I rarely make it over to WeenieCampbell, but when I do, I always check the back porch for your stuff Mike. Thanks for the tunes.

This is fantastic! Your rhythmic playing is really compelling and I totally dig the variations you throw in. You really pistol whipped this song into submission.
