Carl is a star in our eyes.  Just a pity he doesn't get the money usually associated with stardom.

Perhaps I should have been more specific: If this were 1965 there would be an eager and sizable audience for what Carl, and others of us are doing, with plenty of venues to perform at, lucrative record deals and plenty of media exposure. But yes, in terms of the quality of his playing Carl is certainly a star in the present day.

I'm perfectly happy though with my current status of 'worldfamous in his own livingroom'
Nevertheless I think that we, middle-aged 'amateurs' have an obligation to spread the word as much as possible.  It's amazing how many reactions I get on my Youtubechannel of youngsters discovering country blues (usually via Clapton, Led Zep, White Stripes etc).  If we don't do it country blues will be virtually extinct in 20 years.  I don't see a new Paul Geremia, Bookbinder, Rishell...  Promising youngsters like eg Alvin Heart Youngblood meander to other fields as there is hardly any money in country blues.
I don't need to gig - hate lousy pa's, noisy uninterested audiences etc - my satisfaction is getting youngsters to listen to this wonderful music...

He's a a star in my mind, and many of the people who are "stars" to others are...Anyway, excellent job! I haven't heard the Lonnie original, but I will seek it out. He was such a brilliant guitarist, and was equally adept at singing Blues, and even covering old Pop standards.

I'd love to see you post another excellent video like this one.
