Thanks for the post and link, Michael. Hopefully it will be widely shown beyond NYC and be available on DVD at some point.

I was trying to figure out what Muddy might be thinking there. My guess for the Bloomfield digit extension, he's heading for the play button of a cassette recorder. [later: Oh wait, it says early 60s, cassette recorders came in in the late 60s]

What a truly great shot that is.

Of course. That never occured to me.

I'm still wondering what Muddy is thinking. On lesser sites we'd start one of those tedious caption contests.

What makes the shot for me is what they call in photography Muddy's 'eye line', making a triangle with Bloomfield's contortions and eye line as he stubs out his ciggie. That and the expressions. I'd like that one in a frame on the wall.
