I guess someone should fix it on the calendar. See my story in the April 2010 Living Blues for more detail. But the short version is, an amateur researcher (Steve Salter of Whitehall, Mich.) unearthed Bo Carter's draft card. And it establishes his birthdate as June 30, 1892 -- not March 21, 1893, which had been the commonly accepted date.
So put some Carter on the stereo and a banana in the fruit basket and start celebrating! Cheers, SC

Happy Bo Carter's birthday, all! Our beloved Armenter Chatmon was born 123 years ago today. (Looks like Wikipedia has the now-accepted day and month, but still has the incorrect year of his birth).
