The cheapest Gibson ever?
« on: February 12, 2008, 04:35:57 PM »
Hi all.

I wonder what you more knowledgeable forum members think of this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Gibson-Guitar-Old-Acoustic-Beautiful-Wood_W0QQitemZ180215318580QQihZ008QQcategoryZ2385QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Oh well. The seller won't ship abroad, so at least I won't get fooled.   :'(

Edit: the original price was just eleven dollars, but has just jumped up to 50. I guess it's going to climb...

LG-3? Late 40's/early 50's? Looks real nice and probably refinished, in fact almost certainly if you compare the condition of the case. See http://www.elderly.com/items/20U-7897.htm

It will certainly get over a grand, pushing 2 I would guess.

I agree, it looks like a refinished Lg-3.  Looks like there has been a back headstock plate added - which might indicate a broken headstock repair. My guess is a grand at most... because of the refinish.

Save your money Pan.
