One day a man wearing a Western-style hat with a red bandanna around his neck walked into our store and announced that he was Jelly Roll Morton, the greatest stomp and blues piano player this side of New Orleans. Cassius Clay had nothing on Jelly Roll! - Lester Melrose, comparing Jelly roll Morton to a young (pre name change) Mohammed Ali

Rich DelGrosso - Blues Mandolin
WEDNESDAY April 16th  7 PM
THREE HOURS WORKSHOP $75
Rich DelGrosso is a specialist with an emphasis on the styles of Yank Rachel, Howard Armstrong and Johnny Young. A truly great player and teacher, he has taught music for over 25 years. He also has a regular column in Mandolin Magazine, and his writing has been featured in Living Blues, Mandolin World News, and Frets magazines. His latest book, Mandolin Blues: from Memphis to Maxwell Street, was released in 2005 and is an essential reference for the Blues Mandolinist.

Del Rey and Rich Del Grosso will appear together at THE LIVING ROOM on April 15th at 8PM

I wanted to make sure you are aware of the four fantastic workshop events I'll be hosting in the coming weeks. These are all intimate group lessons (12 participants max) in New York's Flatiron District. Three of my favorite artists will be heading into our great city between March 14th and April 16th. They will each conduct a workshop or two during their east coast tours.

I'm so excited that Rich is coming to stay with us in NYC. I've been fascinated with his playing and writing's for years. It must be the decade of the mandolin, because mando workshops seem to generate the most interest. We're almost sold out already. Should be a fantastic time.
