Wow - but Bessie Smith spills fire and fury in Hateful Blues on Columbia Record 14023D. Talk about hymns of hate - Bessie sure is a him-hater on this record. The way she tells what she is going to do with her "butcher" will make trifling fellows catch express trains going at 60 miles an hour. The music is full of hate too. You can almost see hate drip from the piano keys. Every note is a half-note. No quarter for anyone - Chicago defender ad, July 1924

It's a great idea frankie, maybe the forum calendar would be good for slotting folks in?  It would be nice to see a few "events" on the front page.

also Frank, we could setup a Child board for Song of the Moment - that way each individual topic (or song) will not get lost in a general board.  ??  let me know what you'd like to do.

Let's keep that idea in the back pocket for now. If it gains momentum and grows legs, we're in!

We have a quorum - thanks, EddieD...  we can certainly take on additional volunteers as we get rolling, but this is certainly enough to make a good fist of it! More to come!
