Bill Williams two albums on Blue Goose
« on: April 03, 2013, 07:00:23 AM »
Anybody know if Bill Williams' two Blue Goose recordings ever made it to CD? Anybody have extras they want to part with? I don't see them on ebay.
I wish Rich Nevins and what's left of Yazoo-Schanachie would start a service like Smithsonian Folkways has where they'll do one off CDs of anything ever in their catalogue. Or maybe he should consider donating it all to Smithsonian -Folkways. The idea that so many of those great Yazoos are no longer available is quite sad.

I got his second one (IIRC) on cd last year off ebay. It was re-issued by Peavine. Wonderful stuff. I'm not aware of the other album being available on cd.

... don't be mislead - it has not been re-released by P-Vine (AFAIK), but by (Japanese) Air Mail Recordings !
Why not have a look at my BW discography at www.wirz.de/music/williams.htm

No attempt to mislead, SW just beat me to the drop as I dug out the cd when I got in from work and was jus going to correct my post.

It's great as I said, and beautifully packaged. Not cheap if I remember (my wife ordered it as a present for me and complained about the cost.).
