Thanks - I think I've got bits of it...? I had a lot of trouble getting the vocal to work with that figure at the 12th fret.? It's still formulaic sounding to me and I had to simplify it just to get the feeling of being able to sing with it.? Now I have to start really playing it...

Just listening to Good Looking Girl Blues (I swiped a couple of ideas from it for the break), and that's got a lot of interesting stuff happening underneath the vocal, as does Rock Island Blues.? I think Rock Island Blues has a cooler break (JohnM totally nails this in his video, btw), but I wanted to try my own hand at working out something 'hirsute' (Furry...? hirsute...? yuk yuk...) without quoting him directly.? I need to expand that notion a little further, I think.

Man...? those things are like LSD inspired cyber Peeps from hell!

uncle bud:
I like the opening verse of Furry's Blues, another tune in this family:

I believe I'll buy me a graveyard of my own
Believe I'll buy me a graveyard of my own
I'm gonna kill everybody that have done me wrong

!!

I think those evil Peeps are getting to you, my man... <g>

I like that verse, too...  Furry's sensitive side...

I think this is your best one, sounds like it falls more in your vocal range. You sound so O0 on this one ! The picking is excelent also.
I'd say you got this one bout' nailed.

Thanks, Eddie - glad you liked it.  Since I recorded it, I've been working on and off on slowing it down a bit and incorporating some of the verses from his other tunes that fit that same basic structure (as long as there's some sort of thematic overlap).  I'd also like to work the break from Rock Island Blues into it...  what a great break!

All that's gonna have to wait until I get a couple more tunes out of my system first, though...
