A trivial point
« on: January 15, 2006, 03:37:49 AM »
Hi! Slack,
A trivial point - which being a trivial person I do not hesitate to make. The icons next to the threads on the main forum page are aligned top. This looks a touch unbalanced to me.

Not a high priority task.  >:D

Hi Slack

Interesting - all the rest of the sites pages seem to fit fine at 1024x768. However, the Forum main page goes off the right-hand edge of the screen and generates a scoll bar at the bottom of the page.

Is there supposed to be a differential in resolution betwen the Forum index page and the rest of the site ?? Are the rest of all the pages to be upped to the resolution you quote in answer to Boots query ? Me, I'd like to see it stay at 1024x768 but thats cos I'm idle and don't want to change res for different sites !!!

Cheers and thanks

Steve

No Steve, use any screen resolution you want.... I was just razzing boots a bit.

Both the forum and the front page template are supposed to be variable width.   I thought I checked them in all screen resolutions (eg 800 x 600 on up) - but let me chech them again.  I agree that it is irritating having a scroll bar at the bottom.

Any one else have a scroll bar at lower resolutions?

I see what you mean Steve --- I'll work on a fix for the scroll bar.

Thanks!

I checked, changed my res to 1024 x 768 and yes, there's a main page scroll bar in both Firefox 1.0.7 and IE 6

Hmm, well I got it to happen once and now cannot get it again.

Do me a favor and clear your cache and see if it still shows up?

Steve & Rivers

There's the excuse you've been looking for. Time for a larger display. >:D

OK I went back to 768 and went in again, AOK in both browsers. Did not clear cache. Problem solved?

Boots, I already have a big one!

This is what happened to me (I have not done anything).

Steve... try it again, is this a consistent problem or a one time problem?

Hi Slack,

Yes, consistent - but it is ONLY on the Forum index page - ALL of the individual forum subject pages are absolutely fine.

Just in case it helps it is page:

http://weeniecampbell.com/yabbse/index.php?amp;Itemid=83

and I am using IE Version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.050301.1526

Checked in Firefox and i DO NOT get the scroll-bar at the bottom of the Forum index page. This version is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows U); Windows NT5.1; en-US; rv: 1.7.8; Gecko/20050511 Firefox 1.0.4

Cheers.

A couple of versions behind Steve. Firefox 1.5 works well.

Hi Slack

Just in case it helps - I've just checked it out on a WIN-98 SE box (Win-98 SE V.4.10.2222A) running IE Version 6.0.2800.1106 and the Forum index page has a bottom scroll bar on this too. Running at 1024x768 res.

Cheers.

Steve
