My reaction to the Leadbelly video:

Obviously Leadbelly is patronizing Lomax in a very submissive manner, making this video heavily racist. However, what's more interesting here is to see Leadbelly singing to his wife in video form; we've all seen the photo of the two of them together at the same moment in time. The ending, mentioning how a poor, black, ex-convict born in the 1800s who sang pre-Blues folk music had his records stored along with the Declaration of Independence has to be one of the most unintentionally awkward, gripping, amazing moments in the history of film.

This video of Lightnin' Wells doing Louie Lasky's "How You Want Your Rollin' Done?" is one of my favorite things on YouTube:

In part two of the same clip
(here:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DIKedqvfwyc&feature=related)
there's a tantalisingly short clip of Brownie playing in B, which he regularly did. Has anyone come up with any other clips of Brownie in B?

Robert Lockwood Jr, he has a few solo acoustic recordings where he plays out of B, check out "Western Horizon" on the Plays Robert & Robert record, he did a few other tunes with pretty much the same arrangement, such as "Driving Wheel" (off one of the 70s Trix LPs) if memory serves me correctly.

Haven't found any mention of Joe McMurrian on here so I thought I'd post the two clips he's got on youtube for anyone who might be interested.

Definitely not traditional country blues, but...  Related anyway.  Sorry if this is the wrong place for this.
He mostly plays with an electric quartet (bass, drums, harp).  Not really my thing, but all excellent musicians.
I LOVE the first clip which I believe is an original.  His "Last Fair Deal" is interesting, but it doesn't do it for me like the first one.  Worth posting anyway I figured.  Dude's got some unique chops.
I really, really hope he puts out a solo and/or all acoustic album someday.

A good smattering of country blues videos in the 93 this guy has uploaded.  The kind of player that makes you think you should take up stamp collecting instead.  All videos aimed at both hands.  Great voice too.  Sample "Hesitation Blues" and "The Girl from Ipanema" ..at least...

He prohibits embedding his videos - so here is a listing of all.

This guy Fretkillr Slack mentioned is amazing (thanks)!  I've been back for 3 days now, and I think I've listened to most of his 93.  He's one of Youtube's finest...that's for sure!  Don't miss Greenback Dollar or Jugband (sp).

Not country blues, but arguably a distant relative - check out the YouTube videos by Japanese Hawaiian swing band (I kid you not) the Sweet Hollywaiians.

- is one, but there's a few others you'll see there as well.

Somehow I missed seeing Louie Bluie, so thanks for posting this. Does anybody know what happened to his Bible of Pornography? Was it ever reproduced and published? If not we should put our coins together and make it a Weenie publishing venture. It looks like mmm, mmm over an' out! Yank Rachel doing Diving Duck Blues is IT baby!

I have a friend who's an art book publisher, if anyone is in contact with Armstrong's heirs and they're interested, I'd love to get this happening.
