That's the guitar I play all the time. My children wanted to get it for me as a birthday present so they borrowed money from me to buy it - Jerry Ricks, on his Martin D76 guitar (a US Bicentennial model)

Any good blues xmas CDs?

Are there any great blues xmas CDs?

This is the first I've found, though not sure if it's great (don't have it), but it's still something: http://www.emusic.com/album/Various-Artists-Document-Records-Blues-Blues-Christmas-1925-1955-MP3-Download/10892394.html

While I wouldn't call it necessarily "great," it is a blues Christmas CD which isn't bad. Includes John Lee Hooker, Louis Jordan, Lightning Hopkins, Charles Brown, among others:  Blue Yule: Christmas Blues and R&B Classics.

A really great one that not only has lots of pre-war blues but also old-time, calypso, and world music all from the 78 rpm era is Where Will You be Christmas Day? on the Dust To Digital label P.O. Box 54743 Atlanta, Ga. 30308-0743. Artists include; Lead Belly, Rev. J.M. Gates, Bessie Smith, Leroy Carr (Christmas In Jail-Ain't That A Pain), Lightnin' Hopkins as well as Fiddlin' John Carson and Lord Beginner. 24 recordings from 1917-1959. You'll like this one!

I'd like to think it's pretty good although I may be biased since I compiled this and wrote the notes ;). For whatever reason this seems to be difficult to find on actual CD. There was a companion 2-CD on Document, which I also wrote the notes for, which was slated to come out this year. I'm not sure if this is happening because of Document's financial problems.
