Thanks, Mr. O'Muck When I googled his name I got IGS with this phone number in NYC, <phone number removed> I hope this helps you sir... RJ I just rang Bob who lives in Jersey on the Channel Islands. Will send you his contact details in a private message.
Which in general is a good idea. Rick I removed the phone number from your post - let's try to keep other folks personal info off the public board... unless we have their permission to post it.
Thanks, slack I agree with you Slack, but I believe that was a business number. At least it looks that way to me.
RJ http://www.guitarseminars.com/Faculty/RobertTilling.htm I enquired of Robert whether the book is a straight reprint in new format or revised and whether or not it will be published in UK. He responded thus :
The book is very much like the original (I asked the designer to keep it as much like the original as possible ...simple and straightforward)...but I have added about twelve new photographs about twenty five new stories/anecdotes from musicians etc. Added some new info to the Chronology and updated the Discography plus odd bits here and there...appendix, reviews etc...hopefully will come out on the UK before too long. Yet another to add to the ever growing list awating for the time "when money gets thick again". Glad this has been republished as I don't own it (yet) and it rarely if ever comes up on used searches or at auction. I always get books on volcanoes.

I always get books on volcanoes.Robert has just come back to me with an accurate "tot-up" thus "...there are infact 25 new photographs/illustrations and forty new anecdotes /stories etc!!" This resurrected thread reminds me that I have been in touch with Robert Tilling since around 1971 or 72 when Roy Book Binder suggested I write to him with some photos I had of Rev. Davis, because a book was in the offing. It actually took some 25 years or more for the book to appear. I've never met Bob in person, but we've remained long-distance friends all these years.

I think somewhere here I posted a review cataloguing the publishing trials and tribulations. I may just have to order this to have the updated version. God, what a pre-Internet hassle it was to get the original -- I had to go to the bank to get an international money order in pounds and send Tilling a note in the mail. But it sure was worth it!
