Ramblin Jack Elliott - A Stranger Here CD
« on: July 04, 2009, 08:57:49 AM »
I just picked up Jack's latest CD and it has to be in the top 5 or so that he has ever released

supporting cast includes David Hildalgo and produced by Joe Henry on  Epitaph records,

The focus of the CD is on Country Blues songs from some of the great ones.......

Risin High Water Blues
Death Don't have no Mercy
Ramblers Blues
Soul of a Man
Richland Women Blues
Grinnin in your Face
New Stranger Blues
Falling Down Blues
How Long Blues
Please Remember Me

great stuff by a legend...

Dave

Then it's got to be a good one!!!
He's one of my all-time favorites, got to see him at the Blue Door in OKC a couple of years ago, one of the highlights of my life.
Neat for him to have a country blues focus album, will get it for sure!

Thanks for the info,
Joe

Wow, that sounds great.
I am really surprised because I have followed Ramblin' Jack for a long time and have never heard him perform country blues before.
Based on this, I am going to buy the bloody CD!

Hell, I'll add him to my list!

He recorded a terrific version of  BLJ's "Matchbox Blues" early on.
