Solo Fingerstyle Guitar
In the context of melodic, blues-inflected song motifs, Steve will demonstrate techniques and devices in standard guitar tuning including syncopated thumb and finger picking, harmonizing melody with chord inversions, and devising bluesy runs, fills and turnarounds. Some tab and handouts supplied.

Slide Guitar
Using open tunings and "bottleneck" style slide combined with fingerpicked bass and chord harmonies, this session will cover the basics of good tone production, accurate intonation and vibrato. One tune in "Spanish" (open G) tuning and another in "'Vastopol" (open D) will put picking, fretting and slide techniques in melodic and rhythmic context. Some tab and hand-outs supplied.
