What better reason to do something like music than just because you love it? It's really easy, all you gotta do is quit your day job, and alienate your family, and confuse all your friends, and live in squalor for a few years, and you got it - Bruce Molsky, Alberta Street Public House, Portland, OR, 2006

Green Valley Waltz (warning: old time, not blues) lyrics?
« on: June 01, 2010, 03:13:45 PM »
It's not blues, but it is country.  Can anyone decipher the 2nd line of the 3rd and 4th verses?  Here is

I have:

Here?s to you a hundred dollar bill
Here?s some ???
Here?s to you my lily white hand

I don?t want your hundred dollar bill
Don?t want your ???
All I want?s your lily white hand

I'm attaching the song. This version is by Warren Caplinger's Cumberland Mtn. Entertainers.
Thanks as always,
Suzy

Is it here's some/don't want your "smaller change"?

Good tune.

I hear this:

Give to you a hundred dollar bill
Give some smaller change
Give to you my lily white hand

I don't want your hundred dollar bill
Don't want your smaller change
All I want's your lily white hand

Been meaning to learn this for a long time.  Thanks for the reminder!
