I'm going, are any of you going to be there?
I'll be carrying along a parlour guitar, a ukulele, some harps & a kazoo and neck thingy.
Past experience of this event tells me that attracting customers to a caf? by playing music will occasionally (nearly always) induce the proprietor to provide food & beer for the players. Maybe we can try our hands at a bit of that?

Well, I did have a great time, as it turned out. Got to play guitar, ukulele, kazoo and Anglo-Saxon Lyre (never even heard of that until last week!) with some wonderful people.
Also, for those sharing the general "Weenie Aesthetic," check out Roma di Luna, not exactly blues, but she plays the fiddle in a style reminiscent of Lonnie Chatmon and sings clever, moving songs in a haunting, fragile voice.
I also enjoyed a few performances by Jake Shimabukuro and by Watermelon Slim.
I'll catch up on lost sleep gradually throughout the next few days.

Sounds great. Jake Shimabukuro is incredible - wish I could see him live. Watermelon Slim I have seen a couple of times. He rocks. At one gig I tapped my feet so hard, he invited me to be his drummer! It's amazing how he plays an alternating bass line and the treble strings with a flatpick.

As one whose tastes go beyond just country blues, I can see the appeal of Roma di Luna. I must find time to listen to more online.
