I think the resonator also renders the banjo slightly more aerodynamic, creating just enough lift to get the tosser a bit more length on the throw.  While we're all contemplating the physical properties of resonator and non-resonator banjos and how those properties affect their flight patterns, Jalopy Theatre brings us this peek into the festival preparations:
