FYI,

WC will be in "maintenance mode" for a period of time on Friday evening, 08-26-11 for a server upgrade.

Thanks,

The site will be down sometime within the hour for a server move.

Thanks.

OK, the move has been completed.  Dunno if it is my imagination - but the site seems considerably quicker!

Yup, definitely quicker.  Here is what our host did.... for the geeks out there.  (Firestorm was the name of the server we were on.)

----
Glad to hear it!

Essentially instead of one hard drive on one physical server like we used to have, this setup uses virtualized storage spread across multiple drives.   Firestorm is also almost 5 years old.  That?s a pretty old age in terms of new technology and hardware.  J

The virtualized disk space also means that we?re not at risk of a single drive failure taking the whole server out like on a traditional setup.
