Big Boy Teddy Edwards
« on: April 04, 2023, 05:58:08 AM »
While looking through the Document Records catalog, I came across Big Boy Teddy Edwards.  I had never heard of him and was really impressed with what I had heard.

According to the notes he was from Chicago and had worked with Big Bill Broonzy, Papa Charlie Jackson and the Hokum Boys, cutting about two dozen sides from 1930-1936.  A few of those tunes are of Teddy playing a Tiple which is a very interesting sound.

Can anyone here add anything or have any info on Teddy Edwards??

Thanks Slack, I did a search before making my post but nothing showed up. Another one of those bluesman that faded into obscurity.

It's a quirk of the site.  You get much better results if you select 'Google' from the drop down box to Search.  Google's indexing is amazing.

Maybe we should eliminate all but google searching.... hmm.
