Jimmy Brown Lyrics
« on: October 09, 2023, 04:14:34 PM »
Hi all,
Jimmy Brown played fiddle and sang "See See Rider" on the Testament CD, "Big Joe Williams-Back To The Country", and was joined by Big Joe, playing his nine-string guitar in Spanish tuning and Willie Lee Harris n harmonica. The trio has a terrific "rough and ready" sound and I particularly like the melody of this version of the blues standard. Here is "See See Rider":

INTRO SOLO

Oh see, see rider, don't you see what you have done, Lord, Lord, Lord
See see rider, see what you have done, you've
Caused me to love you, then your man done come

I'm going away to leave you, and I won't be back 'til Fall
Leave you, won't be back 'til Fall
If I find me a good gal, won't be back at all

ENSEMBLE SOLO

You see, see see rider, don't you see what you have done, Lord, Lord, Lord
Squeezed my lemon, caused my juice to run, well, you
Made me love you, now my love done come

ENSEMBLE SOLO

CODA

All best,
Johnm
