There's some fellows - I shouldn't say nothing because I made some of those jive records, too - but they should have at least two meanings to what their song is. There is going to be little children hearing those songs, you know - Tampa Red, quoted in the liner notes to Don't Jive Me

Musical tribute to recently deceased friend.
« on: January 29, 2013, 04:24:50 PM »
This burg received some very sad news yesterday.
You might not have known Nigel West, but his unexpected demise has left a lot of people "very stunned" (Wom pers. comm.).
Here's a little ditty that a couple of us concocted this afternoon, by way of tribute and memorial to our very good friend. Sorry for the near-total absence of perfection, we were both a bit upset. Big Nige will be missed by many. One never knows, do one?

That was great! I hope somebody feels prompted to compose and play something as good for my eulogy, would make it all worthwhile!

Thanks all.
Next Wednesday, 6th Feb, we'll be holding a Big Nige tribute evening at our regular acoustic blues pub session.
Bath Hotel, Victoria St, Sheffield. About 8:30pm.
All welcome.
