New Book on Dobro/National etc.
« on: March 07, 2013, 10:39:02 AM »
Have not noticed anything on the forum about `Palmtrees,Senoritas and Rocket Ships`. A book by UK resonator guitar expert Mark Makin. It lists (with illustrations) just about every National/Dobro/Supro/Valco instrument ever made by or with some input of the Dopyera brothers.
(Even amps)
Amazing

Might be because it appears to have just been published and doesn't seem to be available through bookstores or on-line stores. Here's a link with photos and info:

In one of the posts Mark says that you can e-mail him directly for info about purchasing the book:

mark.makin (at) ntlworld.com

It looks like a real gem.

Got my copy on Monday 4th March 2013 - it is absolutely superb - beautiful and lavish illustrations of all models (banjos, Mandolins, guitars, etc.) as well as amps.  Wonderful BUT very heavy at over 3kilos.

Well worth the price if you can get one from Mark !!!
