Stefan, I was running around on a Saturday night tagging stuff and noticed the above links don't work. At first I thought it was a used Nipponese car dealer spoofing your ID

The entire site has reported a 404 since the 26th. This has been raised at other internet blues discussion boards.

My emails to him just bounce back. To paraphrase a Barbara Lynn song "when you lose me, you lose a good thing" and perhaps shows just how all of us rely upon Stefan's amazing industry and undoubtedly take it all too much for granted.

I hope he's ok.  For me, Stefan's site is one of the little pleasures that makes life worth living.

Since both email and his site are down -- it sounds like it might be his host having problems.  (As opposed to forgetting to renew one's domain name.)

The domain wirz.de is pingable so it is up, but it might be that the web server has some problems at the host verio.de. If it takes too long there is a support site: http://hosting.verio.de/support.html.

When this message is given for the top domain "Forbidden. You don't have permission to access / on this server." it usually means a permissions problem with the web server. Can be a result of upgrades.

I sent him an e-mail re: our concerns and it didn't bounce back, so maybe he'll post to let us know what's going on.

sorry to be the cause of your concern, but I'm pretty well, but my bank account ain't  
... to the effect that I sometimes have to decide whether to pay my landlord OR my provider  
...and I beg you to accept that that ain't no kind of PLAYING with anyone's nerves (this last remark goes especially to Patrice Ch.)

... and elsewhere I added the following: Guess why I have/had this "Donate" button on each and every page of my site (which - with one single exception - nobody ever did "hit") ?  

and one last thing: My e-mail adress wirz@wirz.de is temporarily closed because of the temporary closure of www.wirz.de, but my other adress wirz.hannover@t-online.de is (still) functioning !

Something we can do to help? Guess we can't get to that donate button now. Will check that out when the site is back. That is a great resource that should be available.

Stefan, happy to to see the site is back up. One thought: your Paypal Donate button takes you to a Paypal page in German only, with no option that I can see to switch to English. An option in English would perhaps yield some more donations.
