Pete Hampton article
« on: June 07, 2013, 04:11:03 PM »
I came across this article on the early medicine show / coon song artist, Pete Hampton, who toured Europe and recorded in England in the early 1900's. Perhaps some of you are interested?  The article has a link to an mp3 "Dat Mouth Organ Coon", from 1904, where he plays harmonica as well as sings.

While I'm at it, here's a  YouTube video too:

Edited to add: his version of "Bill Bailey" can also be found on Spotify. Don't know how to link it here, though.
