I'm just learning about this family group Ahl Nana, the first to modernize traditonal Moorish music with electric guitar in the 70's. I've been obsessed with Mauritanian and African music for quite a few years now and have been super excited to learn about this group and have ordered the newly reissued LP from bandcamp. Some tracks sound downright Appalachian and Gospel-esque. The fiddle playing is especially mountainish. Check out the incredible footage from the 70's.
