She might have been, but I'm not too sure. However, I am sure that this latest offering of mine has been a musical adventure in itself!

The song is a Casey Bill tune in Eb that dj and I have been unravelling for some time, we have the solo transcribed but as yet we can't play it at tempo.. haha!

I have a pianist friend who put down a paino track for me as he simply listened to the original (what a showoff!) and I have subsequently added rhythm (lap!) guitar, drums, vocal and an al freco solo in the style of the original.

For those who are coming to the UK weenie event I think we might attempt the chord sequence of this in my lap class, it taught me a lot!

I agree, I like your vocal character and tone. Somehow you guys sound like some old scratchy record, I love those low res MP3 settings. Very entertaining as I sit here at work with headphones working on visio drawings (boring). The Back Porch is starting to be my favorite section. Seriously if you keep on this, your gonna have something nice. I wish I could be there playing with yall!

There's a lovely lope to this which sings to my inner jug-band!
It's easy to critiscise works in progress but the more i listen to it the less i care about that. it's not perfected but it's right!
the drum comes out well, and the brushes feel remarkably similar to the washboard on Gus Cannon's Boll Weevil (which was next up on my iTunes).
i'll keep this one!

Well thanks good weenies I'll keep at it, pity the base recording is not a little better as doing that was as experimental as the tune itself

Gumbo, as the for drums in truth I'll really a jazz drummer and my guitar playing came about relatively recently.

Yes, I find adding a drum track is generally a one take job quite unlike playing guitar and singing

Nice job, Richard, and I agree with Slim, the vocals are getting stronger.  Cool that you picked a song with "Rhythm" changes in the bridge!  Well done.

There isn't much on the interwebs in relation to this song. I've only found a few videos of people performing it and they're all playing it in different positions and root notes. I've been tuning down a half step and rooting in E. I guess that would make the pitch Eb. Any suggestions or links to tab or live video performances?

It's in Eb (I played it out of high bass GBDGBD) if you send me a message with an email I can send you the chords - do I assume you playing in standard, not lap?
