Perhaps the ukulelephiles will soon force a vote to change the instrument held by WC in the Weenie logo?

Wax

But I thought it was just a particularly large baritone ukulele, Wax.  >:D

Thanks Alex & John! Blues is what it's about. They'll be wanting to bring a penny whistle next.

Phil- shouldn't you just be pleased that there is no sign of a posse of harp players so far? 8)

Now.... Im thinking that blues accordion is probably where its really at.  Anyone know where I can get one cheap?

I think they do really nice ones in the middle of the Sahara Desert.  If you get a bus now, you might be back in time for the Weenie Weekend, but on the other hand, maybe not .....

Well four makes a quorum so I'll contact them next week, I think we should get the function room for free this time.

We'll get to the dozen by March I'm sure, I think we had 4 or 5 staying there last time.

Right, I have spoken with the hotel and in theory the dates are OK.

They will be confirming this to me along with room rates hopefully tomorrow, at present the suggested rate for a single room is ?70, little if any increase over last year?

I will update as soon as I know room more.

Tell them there's a recession, rates should be lower!

Alex

Look on the bright side - a CanuckBuck buys a lot more $US and more GBP than it did at this time last year. But will it's strength last until April? If you are serious, you should start hedging right now! Remember the valuable $US FX advice that I gave you (and you probably didn't take) last June.
Cheers,

Oh girls, 'eh truble at mill  etc  >:(

The Crown are playing hard to get,  as you can see from the email. Wot a little tease etc

Quote
Our Gloucester Suite is available at a discounted price of ?75.00 Friday 18th March  from 4.00pm
With the understanding music will finish at 10.30pm prompt, as we have to be mindful for other guests above the function room.

Saturday 19th March ?100.00 from 10.30am till 10.30pm. Usual Rate ?275.00

Overnight accommodation ?65.00 single in single rooms B&B Twins ?45.00 per person sharing a Twin.B&B.

Personally, I feel the Gloucester Suite (Surely they mean room. Ed.) ain't worth it particulary with an imposed 10.30pm curfew - remember last time they even came in to borrow (steal) some of out chairs\tables as there weren't enough for the nuptuals next door?

I will reply politely, but leave the matter  hanging as the actress said to the bishop and meantime go see what else there is on the net even if it means a trip over next month.

Any alternative suggestions for somewhere southern England within 15 miles of an airport and motorway, let's have 'em please  :)

I shall have a think about other places again.

I agree that the rates they are asking are a bit steep - especially with a 10.30 curfew, which is very early.  Id be amazed if they stopped wedding discos at 10.30...
