Anyone know the lyrics to Some of These Days from? Paul Rishell's? "Swear To Tell the Truth," CD? It's a Charlie Patton song I think.

Hi Slide, welcome to Weenie Campbell.
A great version of this song... the slowed tempo seems taylor made to the lyrics. What have you got so far? Cheers, slack Slide
Hi Slack,
Thanks for the welcome. Great site! This is what I have. Some of these days, gonna miss me honey Some of these days, I am going away Some of these days, gonna miss your honey You know your gonna miss me, by me going away Some of these days, your gonna be sorry Some of these days, I am going away Some of these days, gonna miss your honey Know you gonna miss me, by me going away You will never know, what your?(friend?) will do When you going away, he will?(miss him?) (aw?) returning You will (miss him?), by me going away You will (miss him?), oh honey Know you're gonna miss me , by me going away Break: You will never know, what your friend will do When you goin' away, you will miss him (aw?) returning You will miss him, by me going away You will miss him, (aw?) returning You know you gonna miss me, by me going away.? wildcotton
Slide,
This is one of my favorite songs to play, difficult to perform well because of the slow tempo, but really full of feeling. Patton's version is much different, faster, and without the same kind of longing. I think your lyrics are pretty close to Paul Rishell's version (the live version on the new CD will give you goose bumps). Here's what I'm hearing: "When you're going away, you will miss it or return it You will miss it by me going away You will miss it, oh honey" but yours could be right, too. Anyway, it's a great song. Slide,
I just listened to the live version (which may be slightly different than what you have), and this is what I hear, maybe a bit closer to yours after all. Some of these days, gonna miss your honey Some of these days, I'll be goin away Some of these days, gonna miss your honey You know your gonna miss me, by my goin away Some of these days, your gonna be sorry Some of these days, I'll be goin away Some of these days, gonna miss your honey Know you gonna miss me, by my goin away You will never know, what your friend will do When he's goin away, you will miss him or return him You will miss him, by me goin away You will miss him, oh honey Know you're gonna miss me, by my goin away You will never know, what your friend will do When he's goin away, you will miss him or return him You will miss him, by my goin away You will miss him, oh, honey You know you gonna miss me, by my goin away. Hi Jeff,
Thanks for helping in the effort to figure out these lyrics. I have all of Paul Rishell's CD's. I'll give another listen to the one you mention. I e-mailed Paul Rishell today asking for his help.?If he responds I'll post the corrected lyrics. Steve Got To Fly

In the first and last verse, in the opening line, I think the lyric is "without 'nother word" rather than "with that 'nother word", which makes no sense. All best, Johnm Pages: [1] Go Up
