Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out what Frankie Jaxon is singing in this Tampa Red number, but I sure could use some help!

Here's what little I've come up with so far. I'm sure there are many mistakes. Any help would be much appreciated!  Here is "I Wonder Where My Easy Rider's Gone":

"I Wonder Where My Easy Rider's Gone  -Tampa Red And His Hokum Jug Band, 1929

INTRO SOLO
Easy Rider!
Kansas City, where the girls are pretty!
I know it! Go 'head and tell me!
If they move me lord let em groove me!

Ah, just a little weeping!
You got a bullet- tryin' t' steal a pullet!
I know it! Yeah!
---

Oh, I wonder where my easy rider?s gone.
I wonder where my easy rider?s gone.
Boy, he must be having fun, with some other one.
Races is over and his best days work is done.

I just can?t keep from having those weary blues.
Feel so lonely don?t know what to do.
One thing I can see, Lord, he must be cheating on me.
I wonder where my easy rider?s gone.

SOLO
Oh yes!
Mm-hmm!
He?s good!  Headin' out!
Oh my my!

'Cause I miss you!
Ho!
He?s a rider to a tee, Lord, he puts that thing on me.
I wonder where my easy rider?s gone.  [unclear interjection?]

SOLO
He's in the saddle!
Oh, Lord, Lord!
Tell me about it! Mm-hmm!
Ah joy-ridin' now!

Ho!
---
When he comes home I'll [say /sing?] Baby don't give my jelly away!
Lord, I wonder where my easy rider?s gone.

Vampin' it up thar!!

following your layout
I have inspired guesses for most of the gaps ...

1.3 go 'head and tell me
1.4 if they move me lord let em groove me

2.2 got a bullet go try an' steal a pullet

3.4 races is over and his best days work is done

5.3 headin' out

7.1 keep in the saddle
7.4 Ah joy-ridin' now

8.1 When he comes home I'll say (sing?)
8.2 Baby don't give my jelly away

edited to match the change in verse structure

Thank you very much for your help, Gumbo! It is much appreciated!

I edited my post to your suggestions.

I also re-structured the lyrics to have 4 lines in each verse. Hopefully this is clearer.

Cheers

I edited my numbering to match the edited verse structure ;)

I agree on Kansas City btw

possible corrections after listening again today

2.2 You got a bullet - tryin' t' steal a pullet

7.1 HE'S in the saddle (...... still not quite sure what this is)
following the interjection of someone's name?

and for 6.1 'CAUSE I miss you

and i'll pop this here too

No worries, Pan - I'm supposed to be working so it's a welcome distraction :)
