I don't know if anyone else has heard, but Calvin "the Hoy Hoy Boy" Baldi passed away at age 15 on May 31st. His parents logged onto the Blindman's Blues Forum to inform us. The cause of death is not certain yet -- he appears to have died in his sleep. I am still in shock and cannot believe this.

God, that is terrible! I'm so sorry for his parents, family and friends, and for Calvin himself. I knew him only through his posting here, but he was a friendly and open kid, with a deep love of the music and curiosity. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child this way. My thoughts and best wishes are with Calvin's family at this time. all best, Johnm
<<I just spoke with his father. Yes, Calvin passed away in his sleep after his weekend tradition of watching a horror movie. He watched the movie and fell asleep on the couch. Mom woke him up and sent him to bed. But then he just never got up in the am. They are wondering if there might have been some sort of underlying medical condition. The autopsy will take awhile to tell.
They will be sure to post more information as they are able.........
Very sad and unexpected news.........

What awful news. My sympathies to his mom and dad, and all his friends. Calvin was a real surprise in his enthusiasm and curiosity for the music. This is terribly sad.
This really is tragic news. I didn't know Calvin very well beyond his screen name and his enthusiasm for the music. My heart goes out to the parents... as a parent myself, this is in fact my absolute worst nightmare.
This is absolutely terrible. Its tragic when anyone doesn't get to live out his or her life, but when life is cut short so early, the loss is even greater. Calvin's enthusiasm and talent really shined through in his posts and were a joy. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. In moments like these, a heathen sinner like me finds myself hoping that the tenets of old time religion are true and that Calvin's up there with his heroes.
Very sad. Many of Calvin's posts brought a smile to my face. I cannot begin to imagine experiencing the unexpected loss of a youngster, especially one who is sleeping in his own bed at home. This would have never been on my radar while we still had kids under our roof. I guess we all live with the possibility of a tragedy, but one hopes it nevers happens to you or yours.
