Stewart guitar info?
« on: April 20, 2014, 07:11:37 AM »
I bought an ss stewart guitar. Presumably from the 40s. Anybody have detail to share? Stewart logo in gold, B&j logo on the back, it has for a serial number, looks like all mahogany, like 000-size, no truss rod adjustment.

Thanks!

Looks like it's in pristine condition. I've seen Stewart guitars before but not this one, mostly archtops. I notice though there is a youtube video of one just like it. Seems like it might have been made by Harmony judging by archtops with this logo?

The tube video is of this one, actually. Bought from ebay uk by the guy I bought it from.  :) yeah, likely a Harmony or something like that. Need to get it set up though.

My wife bought a SS Stewart archtop with F holes and really cool art deco inlays.  Our research told us it was made by the old Harmony company.  Either way it is a nice guitar too.

Interesting that it says restored on the YouTube caption. I'm pretty sure the handful of Stewart guitars I've seen in shops, all in the States, have been bursts.
