Frank Stokes EMERGENCY!
« on: December 01, 2004, 10:14:00 PM »
Hi folks,  I am wondering if anyone reading this could possibly email to me an MP3 of Frank Stokes' "Downtown Blues"?  I need it by tomorrow afternoon (which will be Fri. Dec. 2).  Of course I would be very happy to hear it any ol' time at all, but there is a pressing need for it soon, if  at all possible.  Email it to Cleoma@aol.com
I feel kind of silly making this request but it seems like if there's any place I might be able to get ahold of it, this would be it!

I tried this link, and it didn't take me to the site, but do a Google search for frank stokes downtown blues mp3 and you'll see a couple of links for downloads.

Suzy, if someone doesn't get it to you today, I can get it to you this evening once I'm at home.

Thanks again to all who replied.  Frank sent it to me --  thank you Frank! -- but it was sort of funny -- the reason I asked for it was that we're playing with Geoff Muldaur and Downtown Blues is one that he likes to do.  I askd him where he got it and he said Frank Stokes.  But, the Frank Stokes Downtown Blues is absolutely nothing like what Geoff plays -- not in groove, melody, words, nothing!!  It's always great though.
Wish me luck this weekend,
Suzy
