During his visit, Fahey succeeded in greatly impressing me by picking out an old blues by Little Hat Jones, and demonstrating Charley Patton's masterpiece, 'Down the Dirt Road', which I subsequently set about copying. In my 19-year-old neophyte's eyes, any guitarist who could approximate a vintage blues accompaniment was a virtuoso; only six or seven players in the entire country applied themselves to such pieces - Stephen Calt on the state of blues guitar in the early 1960s, from A Fahey Memoir (unpublished)

That is great news, looking forward to releases of several blues album classics from the Bluesville label and other labels listed on the site.

Just feels slightly odd for mine, that they've changed the Bluesville logo to something else - and that their first releases are Vanguard and Riverside LPs, rather than genuine old Bluesville titles, some of which haven't been in  circulation for quite a while, and which are all worth reissuing

It's Craft = Concord , so they own Prestige/Bluesville and it's not got to do with the rights one imagines.

Rather I guess, it's someone's idea of a Re-Brand.
(With plenty of imagery of John Lee Hooker clutching an acoustic guitar. Hmm)

Hope they get to the actual Bluesville titles in due course - I'm sure they will.
